Self-consumption means that the solar power generated is used directly by the producer himself and is not fed into the power grid. The electricity is routed from the PV system directly to the connected electricity consumers or temporarily stored in a solar power storage system.
The self-consumption share is the share of the solar power generated that is either used simultaneously by electricity consumers or to charge the electricity storage system. The higher the share of self-consumption, the less solar power is fed into the grid.
